Right then I'm with Norwich Union for the sri. I am the main driver and my girlfriend is named. Therefore I have 2 years no claims and my girlfriend hasnt had her own policy yet.

Im at uni in 'on campus' accomodation, so dont actully use the car and am still registered at my home address, which is where my car is registered as being stored on the driveway. Really, my girlfriend only properly drives it and has it on her driveway at her house. Im aware this isnt totally within the line of the 'law', but the difference of £1000 on the insurance is hard to avoid.

The difficulty comes when i change my address in July to Lincoln. The car is registered in my name so im wondering which of the following i should do

- Leave it as it is and sort it out at renewal in March
- Change it to my new postcode, going from security area A to B and from driveway to street parking (but, in essence its still wrong)
- Is it possible to have it as my girlfriends postcode even though i dont live there?

Now as I said before im aware this isnt totaly in line, but whats your thoughts.....

Cheers

Dan

do the right thing and change it to your address otherwise you will be found out eventually and risk a hefty fine/ prison sentance or some silly thing like that

I know ith most companies you can have a second address listed of where the car is for long spells. For example I could have my car insured at my home address and garaged but also have my gf's address listed with on street parking..

Serious?

Technically, what you could be doing is classed as fraud. Just do the right thing, or not let her drive it at all, garage it, and sorn it.

Then tell her to get a 12v or something

Plus you'll be really pissed off if you haven't driven it in a while because of Uni, then find out she has pranged it.
