But yet people still drive around with these kind of plates on and haven't been pulled/warned.

There only legal on vehicles registered before 1973.

ok cheers guys its just ive had people telling me they are legal and others sayin its points if u get pulled, but i have seen a new golf and bmw with these??

I have killed many people but have yet to be caught/warned.....still doesnt make it legal though!

What if you have a plate that was issued before 1973? Is that illegal on a newer car?

If the car is registered in The Isle of Man or somewhere like that then u can have black plates with numers on

Nope, only on cars registered before 1973. I.e. If your car is a 2000 model, but you have transfered a plate from a 1969 car, it has to have newer style plates, as the car was registered in 2000.
