Got an interview on Wednesday for an estate agents.. Really want the job as its good prospects and money etc..

Anyone give me any tips? What information should I know about the company, things I should say to impress?

Also the woman on the phone just said come in and we can chat about the application, is this an interview?

Take a look at their website for anything that may be useful to mention during the interview, or if they ask you about the position.

Talking about an application is like an interview to me!

prepare some questions to ask. Never looks good at the end of interviews when they ask if you have any questions and you just say no. If you ask them some questions shows you are interested.

if your going to be an estate agent, ask about company car allowances, the commision structure - if you get an office commision (e.g if your colleague sells a house if you get part of the deal as your bound to end up helping them progress the deal). If they have sales progressors or if you do it yourselves.
If they are tied to any mortgage advisors - if you get additional commision for that.

TBH I wouldnt ask about company cars or comission as they may think all you care about is money.

As opposed to becoming an estate agent for the love of selling houses .

I do see whwere your coming from though, and its something you perhaps leave towards the end of the interview, rather than the first thing!

The main answers you want are what your going to be doing, and how you'll be trained to do it IMO .

Yeah was going to ask how long the training would take, and where it would take place and whats involved..

Then was going to ask about progression within the business.. Etc..

Ask:

"who will you be reporting to"

"what general day is like" & get asking the interviewers questions like "how did you start & progress within the company"

Each estate agents deals with it differently, so it is a very acceptable question
Unlike other jobs where you wouldnt mention pay, this is one thats allowed - your not asking exactly what they offer just how they deal with it

Thanks guys!

If they ask about if i know anything about the company im just going to give it a little background IE where it started/where they're situated/what they do.

Questions im going to ask is something like the training, promotion prospects and staff turnover etc...

Hopefully i'll impress with whatever I have to say
