In a group that size, they probably wouldn't ask him for ID.

Whats the reason for over 20s? Normally only ever over 18 or over 21?

In my experience, big groups attract every single person's ID, so no under age people get let through. If he is close to 20 however (i.e. he is still over the legal drinking age) I doubt it'll be a problem.
Either be prepared to leave him at the door, or none of you go in. . .

Some of our clubs are sometimes over 19/20's. Not sure why, probably helps filter out the underage.

probably because clubs believe that 20 year olds are more mature than 18 year olds generally.

The general rule is that if you book in advance they will ID the lot of you... if you just rock up they won't let you in in a big group... if you go in pairs and meet inside it's hit and miss...
EDIT: The reason the ID everyone when you book in advance is the same reason they ID you if you book a guest list... under agers think jut cos they are on the list they are emune, so they ID everyone.

You have to consider the Think 21 thing now too - they'll probably ID all of you.
