im thinking about getting a clifford alarm and engine start for my new car soon, i cant find anywhere with the bad points with the remote control engine start, anyone had good experiance with it or bad...any comments about them welcome

Bad points - starting it in gear.

good points - starting it somewhere busy and the priceless looks on peoples faces when the car starts itself.

Monster i know what you mean by starting it some where busy andjust getting in it..

Jazzer i didnt know that it makes it not a cat 1..

i know basically nothing about remote engine start, ive herd that if it buggers up you have had it basically

remote engine start is just an option that may or may not be added to your clifford, i decided against it on mine but i can add it in the future if i wish. pretty nifty alarms though i must say, they are very sensative.

^^ you cant set it when in gear so theres no way that can happen i had iton my astra and my corsa great fun in town center

it shouldnt start in gear, my mate has one on his gti-6,the alarm want arm itself unless its in safe mode (neutral).

good piece of kit imo,hes had it two years never let him down once

im not sure on the price tho, but this car im keeping for a good few years and is going to have a bit of work done to it, so it probly be worth it in the long run

Yeah sometimes a bit too sensitive though, that's my only fault with the clifford alarm on my corsa. Other than that had no problems with the remote engine start facility. Didn't know it wasn't cat1 though either

Was an option for an extra £60 when i got mine. Pointless if you ask me, and once you've shown your mates the novelty dies quickly.

a friend had an engine on his evo 6 (dunno which make) cos it was such a good alarm it used to eat battery so to stop battery dying it used to start engine on its own to maintain battery life, a neighbour new he was on hoilday head his engine start and rang the police turned out it was his alarm

a friend had an engine on his evo 6 (dunno which make)

why would he have an engine on his evo6

my mates does that,he's always winding ppl up with it 2 years on lol

not cheaper espically if you have one of those daft clifford 950 things at 600 odd quid
