No Jim

I used to race rookie bangers at Northampton 'International' Raceway.

They were all shit though, the oldest things we'd use were Mk2 Cavaliers, so nothing special.

It's 'non-contact' too, so more like touring cars than banger racing, honest

No, NIR is here - http://www.incarace.co.uk/northampton.html

It was great fun, £200 for the first car and all the bits, then £20 after that.

Me and my mate did it, his old man built the cars, me and Dan raced them

Surely this would have involved leaving the house.

How old were you when you did it?

What made you stop?

You've never mentioned this to me before so I am intrigued.

Btw, MK II Cavaliers are not shit

I see what you mean.

I was 16, and stopped because my mate's mate had a big accident one weekend and broke both legs, it seemed like the wise thing to do

Mk2 Cavalier 1.6s for £20 ARE shit

I have had three 1.6 Cavaliers and they were all excellent cars.

Incidentally, you total and utter fucker for doing some form of motorsport and at such an early age too.

Good call on quitting while you were ahead though, i.e. still having legs btw.

i have no problem with bangers when they are mk3 cavaliers etc like was watching at Skeg today. Was also Rebels which are a good laugh and juniors.

Don't like classic bangers though what a waste!

F1s and F2s at skeg next weekend!
