I'm just swapping the engine in mine at the moment... so I'll let you know what I think to the difference.

Not much more speed, but noticable.

BAGs more torque below 3000rpm.

Same everything else.

Yep. My 1.4 was 10bhp more powerful than a standard 1.6 and wouldn't keep up.

The 1.6 is far far better.

1.6 is better, my mates have both 1.4 and 1.6 sports and 1.6 is faster

Ive had both and there isnt an amzing amount of difference that you can notice driving but the 1600 are just sooo much nicer and smoother through the rev range

lol i knew the 1.6 would be quicker but wanted to know wether it would be worth spending more on insurance for the 1.6 which it seems like it would be from what most people have said

The money I spent on making my 1.4 quicker would have paid the extra insurance for a 1.6, which would have been better anyway
