Cav throttle body has round ports anyway, I have one in the car. The C12NZ head has cathedral shaped ports, so the 1.6 spi inlet might be too?

All SPI's have Square inlet ports.
C16nz for the inlet
C18NZ for the throttle body.
I have a 1.8 throttle body if you need one.

to be honest 60bhp from a 1.2 8v i think would keep us with them happy, means we can go up hills without loosing power

You need an inlet off a single point injection 1600 8v astra engine(c16nz)
Iirc mk3 astras had them throughout their production length, i.e. from 1992 to 1998.
I got one off a L-plate car.
It has a egr valve which you'll have to block off, i cut a template from some alloy sheet.
Also, the inlet throat needs opening up sightly to match the tb(the inlet is 43mm, the tb is 45mm)
