I've just came in to find that I've missed a call from the bank. Apparently there was a transaction made, that shouldnt have been.

I phoned the bank, and they tell me of 3 awaiting debits, two of which I know, however a third, one at £250 that I've no recollection of has been made.

So my balance is now into minus due to this. I'm thinking i've been struck by card fraud, what do I do? I'm a student and dont have time for this, nor can I afford it!

Cheers.

The thing is, I;ve phoned them and they "cant tell me" where the cash is going. I have no knowledge whatsoever of making a £250 payment in any way.

Right i had this on Christmas day !!

Get down your local branch and fill out the form to get the money back. They'll take your card off you though i warn you !!

Badger them after 2 weeks if you haven't got the money back !! You'll get your card and pin through like normal though

I know what i feels like so just try and be nice and civil when your there !!

Hope it goes well !

Good luck, keep us informed !

in my experience with card fraud (someone cloned my card), they said from the start i would get my money refunded if i had nothing to do with the transactions and took about 3 weeks in total from scam date to have th emoney back in my bank.

was contacted by a fraud investigation team and told to ring natwest helpline asap which happened to be 10pm at night and spoke to an english woman.

you won't get your money back straight away as it's an investigation, but your bank should freeze your account and arrange things with you to stop you being charged for being in the minus.

Just rang them again, and the guy added additional security to the account, meaning chip and pin transactions are not possible, only thing that can come out, to be shorter, are known direct debits.

I've to phone back tomorrow at 8am and speak to the security department

your better off just freezing the account mate, the bank should have already done this and transferred your existing money to another account for you to use straight away.

Its always good to know the bank is on top of it, one of my friends details were being used in canada and again the bank had contacted her before any real damage was done

Depending on which bank it is, most of the helplines these days arnt even helpful, I kept getting cut of from my bank the other day. The calls cost like 50p a minute.

I've just remembered. I payed for something in a petrol station in glasgow, owned by some indian folk (may not matter). THis was a few weeks ago, and was chip and pin. The transaction hasn't appeared on my statement at all..

Bank say I should get the money back, and it's easier for them as it was withdrawn from a Frankfurt ATM. Just have to wait now!
