They want me to take the car for an inspection before I can put it on retention. I point blank refused to do this because of the cost

There meant to come to your house, which they refused to do.

That's well shit Matt, this is the kind of hassle that put me off, and the fact you have to pay yearly when its on retention or whatever.

I've got E6ECS. I think it cost about £500 with it being an E reg. I am going to get another one for my Corsa soon, something like E5ECS so they can match

J100RSA cost me £250 7 years also got 116CFU this is totaly meaningless to me but was a cheap 3letter 3 number plate bought it for £100 on an old granada years ago
