Ordered my FCS and Pugfest track time. Half hour on Rockingham raceway and 4 runs up Prescott Hill.
Today was the PSOOC monthly meet at the Grasshopper...

The food was lovely, may have to pop along to the next cs one. The waitresses arent half bad either.

So, other than the stickers and the lack of foglights, did you notice any other differences between the GTi-6 and the Rallye?

Yeah I had a good chat with the owner who talked me through it, he says the GTI6 is full of pointless gadgets. Rain sensor, outside temp sensor, rear seat overhead light, leccy windows, air con, leather seats...

Aparently there is only 50kg difference and for that you lose alot of stuff, and you will probably pay more for a rallye as they are rare, you get cloth seats, no aircon, no electrics, no alarm, no deadlocks.
rallye is also 1 higher on insurance group.
Definatly an enthusiasts car the rallye, they were about 3k cheaper than gti-6's when they first come out, 491 in the uk market apparently so shows how rare as there wont be that many left!
"The Rallye weighs 52kg less, that's less than having a passenger, or a tank of fuel!
And for that you lose:
1) No Electric windows
2) No Electric wing mirrors
3) No Leather steering wheel
4) No Passenger airbag
5) No Side airbags
6) Less sound-deadening
7) No front fogs
8) No external temp sensor
9) No hear headrests
10) No leather seats, pheonix cloth instead
11) No aircon (optional extra)
12) No Heated wingmirrors
13) No CD changer (optional extra)
14) No Auto wipers
15) No Alarm
16) No Deadlocks
17) No adjustable lumbar on seats
18) No dash dimmer light
19) 1 piece rear seat backrest, and bottom
20) No rear interior light"
although thats less shit to go wrong especially with dodgy 306 electrics!
