do you have a contract in place? you should make them sign contract with x number of holidays and x number of sick days.

You cannot make someone sign a contract saying they can only have X amount of sick days, he will be raped by a solicitor/tribunal

Have a meeting and discuss this with them.. You have a business to uphold and it's coming onto summer so you're gonna need all hands on deck etc.. Can't you do something like allocate one or 2 days a week when NO ONE can take a day off unless ill??

we have 15 poles at washington metal works, all off them graft their arses off and get majour stick from the english, they do as good if not better job and and english metal worker on ten pound an hour as opposed to a pole who works harder for 5 pouund per hour? i know who i would choose, also the poles have to work a 56 hour week i think it is, so thats and extra 16 hours per employee on standard rate when it would be 15 per hour to pay english time and a half. all money in my bosses pocket, hes a smart man!!!
