I really really am right at the point of losing interest with the car, its been set back after set back from day 1 with an endless list of people letting me down, the latest news is the mechanic i gave it to for him to sort out has had it for over 5 weeks and not done anything. He didnt touch it at all for 3 weeks, then apparently he looked at it and there were some bolts missing, so he did nothing again till i rang him 4 days later when he told me. I told him where to get them from, rang back 4 days later, and he still hadnt done anything cos the rear mount is cracked apparently. I ended up giving him Beardy's number so he could have some advice and a place to get any missing bits, but apparently my mum went down there this morning to see how he is getting on and he says he doesnt want to do it anymore  Ive had to postpone the mapping session at emerald 4 times now too, the next date is June 22nd unless I can get a cancelation, and im moving to Spain in September so it hardly seems worth it! Is there ANYONE who would be willing to finish off the job for me? Its a case of fitting the engine and hooking up the ECU, the wiring loom has already been made for it. The engine has been rebuilt, all new sensors, there may be one or two nuts and bolts missing but they should be easily sortable. I need someone confident in what they are doing, and who WONT let me down!!

a) I dont have time cos im at uni and the car is in Hereford, b) Im not sure what im doing, and I cant afford to replace the engine if I break it

He was one of the people that let me down 3 times already, albeit for different reasons, but he also said he's too busy to do it. The car is in Hereford at the moment on the border of england and wales, but I wouldnt mind travelling so long as I knew it was going to finally get sorted.

Pay a proper company to do it for you? Is the only option I can think of.

would be happy to do it for you mate, take it from your sig its a c20xe on tb's?
if so we can get it up and running and mapped for you in no time, transorting the car to me would cost around £200. got a few conversions in at the moment, they take up time and space but thats not a problem.

I just checked on the AA website and you are 260 miles away Dave  I may well be ringing you though as a last resort, especially as you can do the mapping aswell. Could you U2U me the sort of price you would be looking at for fitting the engine and mapping it?

what you really need is a local place with mapping facilities and knowledge about these engines and TB setups, the average garage wouldnt have a clue.
try these people:
Mech Motorsport in tewkesbury, not far from where the car is now.

Got it booked in there for may 2nd, they can also do the mapping aswell which means I wont have to wait till June 22nd for Emerald. May not be quite as good but i dont care any more, least ill get to drive my car for more than a few weeks before moving to spain!
