im in my final year of 6th form doing a levels and to be honest its alright but ive had enough of it, the majority of my year are all leaving to go to uni but thought about it and its not for me for varous reasons the debt and finding education boring at the moment....
So i got thinking and come up with two options either something with cars or plumbing, i was given this information for rolls royce so i applyed thinking o i wont here anything back......
i was wrong ive got a interview next tuesday for aero, repair & overhaul and operations, its made my day sorry for boring u all with this thread but i got to tell someone lol

nice 1 !!! I know a couple of mates that are working there.... think its pretty good and the pay ain't too shabby either, especially when you've finished your apprenticeship !!

cheers, yea the apprentice pay aint too bad either but ive gota do a lot of tests and stuff for them when i go, just gota wait and see how it goes, and hope it goes well.

I do that job somewhere else, and if its any help the usual sort of tests when recruiting apprentices are on arithmatic, logic (problem solving) and spacial awareness (they show you a diagram of a shape laid out flat and you choose what it would look like in 3D - if you know what i mean!)
Then a hands on test - mine was wirebending to match a shape and wiring a plug!
Then an interview where they asked me about turbofan engines, any mechanical experience at all (i used cars as my example-had to give them a step by step guide on how to change the brake pads on a corsa!) Then try an identify bits from an engine.
So try and do a bit of research on the company, engines they do (RB211) and practice ur maths as youll be pushed for time in the tests, which is one way of weening out the slower/thicker/useless applicants.
not saying this is how they do it, they could be completely different but it might help.

yea i gota do all them sounds like a mission...yea i fink i need to borrow a gcse maths book but i dun a maths test a few weeks ago for a college placement n i only got 2 things wrong n i finishd way before everyone else..chhers for that tho rhys i remember all that. thanks ali

Gud luck man, i always wanted to work with cars but couldnt find anywhere, partly becasue i didnt really no where to look. Get yourself into that and ull be sorted for life.
