ported and polished what does this mean and what will it do is it cheap and can i have it done 2 my car?pics of what gwts done would help

inlet and exhaust ports on the cylinder head are cleaned ,polished and sometimes enlarged.they polish them so the the air fuels mixture and exhaust gass's flow more freely and therefore faster which inturn produces more power.it can be done to any engine but its not really a worth while mod on its own.
