What a shit day i've had.

Came back from St. Helens, a loud knocking noise from the bottom end. Had a look after work, bottom pulley bolt had come loose

Sorted that, came to drive home and this happens: -

I don't think so. We didn't let the pulley come off the crank when we took the bolt out to threadlock it. It's got me stumped. I've checked all over, sensors, wiring etc. I'm thinking that HG has give up........

I just find it a bit funny it goes wrong as soon as that bolt came loose.

On both of sports my bottom pullie worn, so it knocked the timing out 1-2 teeth, just ticked over at 250rpm, knocking & wouldn't rev etc. Sounds like you've got the same problem, but not as bad.

Jonny - FLT training.

Colin - I can't see it, but i'll have to check it. The pulley was making a racket, and had about 2mm of play in it either way.

It did seem to loose power down the motorway. About 5 mins before I noticed the knocking. With both you and Colin saying that, it's got me thinking.

The pulley wasn't that loose though, not majorly. But enough to let it rattle a bit.......hmm.

I bloody hope so. Good thinking Batman, and Colin.

Thats the next step then. I wasn't too sure on the HG issue, as it's been running sweet recently. I'll have to get it dropped off tomorrow at the Mrs's dads. If' i'm luckt he may do it for free Two weeks into each month i'm brassed.....

Check timming 1st then get a compression tester stuck on each cylinder just to be sure its not the HG.
