Anyone know for definate how this is paid when you make a claim!!
Just ive recieved some money in my account today, just shy of £700 (less than Im due from the tax man) & Ive no idea what its for & online banking doesnt tell you any details!!
I was pretty sure you got a letter sent with a cheque at the bottom of it

If you have telephone banking with your online banking then they can tell you who the payment comes from for payments which don't have any references by them on your online banking...

Yeah you usuallky get a letter you have 2 sign and return..Can you not go into your bank and get an itemised thingymabob

Think it's just paid ad-hoc don't think there's a set date. When I got paid a couple of years ago it was a cheque.
Did you give them your bank details?
If you check back tomorrow internet banking should tell you who sent the cash. Mine takes a day or so before telling me who sent/took my cash!

Everytime I've done it it's come via cheque, same for my brother too

Online thingmaboab just says - Bank Credit 
Dont have phone banking, I can never get past their security questions 
Im sure i'll find out soon.
Didnt really think it would be the tax man, doesnt have my account details & Im pretty sure ive been sent a cheque in the past 
Oh well....im £688 up til I find out what its for

Bank Credit is normally a cheque, or is that Counter Credit 
Have you been charged interest in the passed for overdraft etc?! And thought nothing of it?!

Bank Credit is for any transaction I think, because I put in some cash aswell & its there too as a bank credit.
Never been in my overdraft.......ever.
I'll keep my eye on it, see what happens, if its there longer than a month i'll move it to my ISA & keep it

usually they pay it by cheque unless you ask for the direct transfer.

Hmm i have been paying basic rate since october.. how do i claim it back? how ong does it take and will i need old wage slips?

best bet is going into your local tax office. they are useless on the phone and wont deal with you for a few weeks. go in with you latest pay slip baza. See someone there and get it sorted out there and then. sometimes it can be paid directly into your account
