Yes, without a doubt it's worth it.
You can get them from LMF, but they're expensive, or you can get them from wherever JR got his, for about £25

now to sound stupid
but what do they do? do they make the gearstick move less or just the parts you dont see move less (if that makes anysense)

Mine made loads of difference. Alot shorter travel of the gear stick and a more positive feel. I got mine from regal. Advert in total vaux says £25. Although i paid £50 for mine. Had my engine out at the time so easy to fit. Definatly recommend one.

how hard to fit for someone that can do suspension etc.
take it goes under the gear stick bit?
do you have to relign all the gears?

they fit between the gear box and the rod attached to the gearstick.Fiddly as fook but i found it gave a much better feel to the gear change.And yes you need to set the linkage up which is covered on here somewhere.

I didn't need to set mine up. Just swapped them over. Remove two circlips and pop off the ball joints. One to gear lever, one to gearbox. Lift up tabs on securing bar and pull out. Slide old one off. New one on remembering to grease it all up. Swap over ball joint cups from old to new. Pop it all back together. Hey presto! Shorter gear changes.
