i beat loadsa stuff in my mk2 golf gti, vtr's 1.6 sports corsa easily, many many chavvy cars and the likes, also hammered a 1.6 gti 205 and a 1.5 vtec honda civic.

how good am i? not.

alot of its down to the driver in my opinion.......like the other day i raced a 106 GTI and beat it simply because i carried alot more speed through corners etc....some people just cant drive fast very well....fortunately i can

The VXR was quicker, but not by much. Remember in hot hatch terms even the Mk2 Golf is light compared to todays hot hatches.

I was impressed with it, he was on his own and we had two full up suitcases in the back and a full to the brim fuel tank.

mk2 vr6 are qhuck, cam swap and a few choice mods and it will be quick
