Nice cars, feel very refined. They go well enough but they really need a re-map to feel 'raw' Reliability is great providing you get one that's looked after. Go for one already standard as ones that have been played with can be dodgy, and are expensive to sort out if anything goes wrong. Overall they're well built, comfy, air con EW/CL/EM/PAS etc. I enjoyed mine but i tired of it as i wanted something a bit older and more fun to drive hence the G40.

depnds if its a cupra or cupra R as R is 180 and Cupra is 156

Having said that both remap to the same figure around 210 - 220 BHP

You'd be suprised, you get roughly 40bhp just from the remap, at stage 1 iirc, hence the reason the Cupras are so popular (for their tuning). Add a blueflame system, de-cat, forced induction, forge recirc DV is recommended over the bosch after re-map. And you should be over or around 200bhp competently.

Mine has cost me naff all in the 2 years i've had it. The exhuats corroded but thats down to age, and I needed a new battery fuse holder (£36). That's all it's cost me in maintenance.

Good cars to drive, comfortable, nice toys inside, can't go wrong for the money.

ah rite, thats not really alot of work..

the seb chip for the pgt makes about 30 - 35bhp

i always understood it that the forced (BMC / VIPER) induction kits were terrible for turbo'd cars.

I have a forced induction, similar to the Viper, and it definately made a noticeable improvement. Sounds menacing too. Also got a full Scorpion exhaust system. A little loud maybe, but it does sound good.

I used to own one as well.

If you remap you will need brembos, i think badger5 do these for £600 or youll have a seriously underbraked car.

Handling as standard is ok, no where near clio 172/182 standards though. budget for coilovers and possibly neuspeed ARB's or similar.

interior is nice, but seats are not very supportive on lower back.

the K03 turbo runs out of steam quicker then you would expect, so take 200bhp+ remap figures with a pinch of salt as they will be 'peak' figures. the K03S practically holds the boost to the redline and makes the car a completely different drive.

a K03s, FMIC, sports cat and exhaust and jabba remap would transform the car for not that much money imo.

They do have a few niggles with them. I've had an engine mount snap which resulted in needing a new cambelt and a window regulator went, all in the same week!

The car has too many sensors, fart in it and you will get a fault code.

Power wise mine made 212bhp with front mount, cat back, relocated air filter and a map.

Spend the money on a mint one and you'll be a lot better off.

Dont quite think you need brembos to stop a mapped one comfortably, 280mm ATE power discs and ferrodo pads are meant to the best set up, but i dont rate the handling at all and mines on coilovers!

I paid for 5k for mine at the end of last year, reckon it's worth nearer 6k now as they are holding their value (well whats left of it) rather well.

nice cars, agree about the sensor thing tho. Good to drive, pretty nippy as standard but can be quite easily tuned.

What forced induction kit would anyone recommend?

Only gripe with my ibiza (mk4) Is the interior, it seems poorly put together and when I stuck my aftermarket suspension on it, it only got worse

tbh, If i spent a long weekend taking it all off and putting it back together with sound deadening and new clips etc - It would make me loads happier with the car, atm though it just annoys me how much it rattles and squeeks.

Windows down or stereo turned up a bit is another story though
