Set out about 6 ish earlier and drove to about 30 miles the other side of derby from Aberystwyth right on the west coast of wales, to pick up a new filter for the koi pond, and only just got back in! Mission and a half, but I got a really good bargain, and also picked up another 2 fish from the guy selling the filter I still cant go to sleep yet though cos i have to wait for the water temp in the bag and the pond to equalise before I can release the new fish into the pond.

He was selling it on a first come first serve basis and there were 5 other people interested in it. The filter on its own is £1000 new, and he chucked in an air pump, a 10,000 litre/hour water pump, and all the pipework for free. Then I got a Tancho Kohaku (all white with a red spot on its head) that ive been looking out for a nice one for about a year, I got that for £50 and its easily worth twice that, and a little Shiro Utsuri (black and white one) for £15. All in all I got around £1400 worth of stuff for £460, so it was worth the trip

Ah well, fair enough..., as long as your pleased mate and u think it was worth it. I travelled inexcess of 3 hours each way with a mate to get my cali leathers, but they were a mint set from a 50k car for £30 - ive seen sets like that for £150!

Thats the best pic of the fish I got, ideally the red spot should be circular but the more perfect they are, the more £££ they are, theres a nice one going for £2,995 on ebay at the moment so I think I can put up with it being a bit different The spot on his head looks like a map of Africa too, I think he's really cool

And one of the highlights of the trip home, I drove past this, stopped, reversed back up the main road (2am and nobody around!) to get the photo

Best game to play in traffic, sat nav out, search for dirty word road names. Cock-and-Bell lane, Cockenend!
