just tonite the xe has started making a horrible very loud squeling noise from around the engine, checked the altinator belt and thats not loose. it sounds as though its comming from around the distributor and thats the only thing that is spinning in that area other than the cams under the rocker cover. (the thing thats making the noise is spinning)
the sound also goes quicker as the car is revved. im totally baffled, anyone help me out here?
could it possibly be the distributor?
the car drives fine but this noise is extremely loud and is worrying me

its not the cambelt, its brand new, engine was only fitted less than 2 months ago.
the noise is comming from around the distributor.

cam maybe?
Is it getting oil to the cam?

my thoughts are either the cam or something else around the right hand side of the engine.
you can see oil around the cam underneath the oil cap.
