does anyone have any pics of their boot being smothed i want to know how thick the metal plate should be that covers the recess

2- 3 mm mate.....when i do them...if i have a few old body parts e.g. bonnet lieing around ill just cut that up....oerfect for it as when its all welded up its so strong...plus ther will be filler going over it so it doesnt make a massive difference bud

its just that i had one done about three years ago and it cracked recently so i broke it all out and there was over an inch of filler in the middle and the plate he used was waffer thin
