hi there lads. im going to go and look at a astra mk3 fitted with a LET lump tomorrow morning. so far the guy has been more than helpfull and sounds genuine enough but are there any things that i should look out for (engine wise) that could cause me hastle and be costly to fix?? any information atall on what to look out for would be 100% appreciated
p.s hope this is the fight section. Was between engine etc and general lol

I would never buy a car with a LET already fitted, unless it was a caly or a cavy. A lot of people bodge the job so you never know what is going to happen.

Look for the usual things, rattles, tapping, smoking.

i doubt alot of people bodge it, the odd few proberly do though, you cant just say its proberly bodged without looking at it.

make sure there is no smoke on start up tappin when it is cold also look in the rear view mirror for smoke on boost and off boost gettin the turbo reconed wont be cheap at all

cheers for the advice, wilson sri iff evryone took that attitude then you may have never sold you old corsa.
it hass been done by a garage so should be a proper job and not a bodge
ok so im going to look out for smoke and rattles.
any other information and tings that should be looked at or payed paticular attention to??
the engine has approx 103k

make sure the engine has numbers lot of turbo engines dont this may be a genuine thing but check it
