I am fcuking sick of selling people. Mainly because they have an opinion on what they want to be sold for (recruitment consultant btw)
I like the selling aspect but the people are driving me nuts. Must be face to face selling to. None of this tele sales nonsence.
Any ideas, tips, info?
Ideally car salesman waould be ace

I would say my job is 10x more frustrating than that.
Imagine, getting a candidate in Australia through 3 telephone interviews and a video conference, arranging his flight, VISA, schooling for his kids, negotiating his salary and package plus arranged his wife an agency to speak with only for him to turn round and say:
"It's really not the right time for us to move"

I've only been working for the company for about 15 months after leaving uni and being actually doing field sales for 3 or 4 of those.
The reason i've been put on the road is we won a large tender into the group Colinton is part of so i just drive about and be the managers pal and see if there is anything they need. It's more reactive than proactive selling so no pressure at all really and the basic wage is good now i'm in my second year!
You should go and kid on your visiting someone in that home btw the Polish secretary is a dirty bit

I've just been thinking about this situation. It's a bit like what I have to do in the way that really you should gain commitment before you put in the hard work.
For example I would say "So if we can agree figures today are you in the position to place an order?" If they're not then you have to find out what's holding them back and try to solve the problem.
In your example it could be "If I was able to arrange your flight, VISA, schooling for his kids, negotiate your salary and package and arrange an agency for your wife to speak with, would you be prepared to move?"
If they say "well it's not the right time", find out when would be and contact them nearer that date. If they say yes though then you know you can put the hard work in try to sell them.
Hope that helps a little and makes sense

Our sales target is a bit non-effective really because our corporate division sells so many that we hit our sales target every quarter.
I personally set myself my own target each month, minimum at least is to sell more than the same month the previous year.
I get a basic salary, car, fuel and comission. The comission is good, although you really need to sell extra stuff with cars to make the money you want each month.
