iirc its down on the left hand side in that pic below the induction kit. and according to my haynes manual its self adjusting aswell.

Thats what you want us to think. I know its probably light but you would be sacrificing alot of power putting a 1.2 8v in J18

what is the question exactly? because to tighten the belt i just used 2 loosen the bracket with a 13mm spanner and push the altenator back with a crow bar then tighten the nut

alternator belt is set right behind the cam cover on the drivers side pretty much same idea as the XE to be honest

Can see th'alternayter thur on't left.

And the lower pulley is just visible here:



There's a retaining bar that bolts onto the inlet and to the back of the alternator, as well as the adjuster bolt which sits on top, visible here:
