Do Tractor drivers by law have to pull over to let people behind them past?

There was a queue of about 15 cars behind a tractor earlier (I was 5th back) and after passing several bus-stops and laybys it didnt pull over, resulting in various dangerous passes by people behind it include 2 large lorries

dont think so, but, you'd think it was common sense if you saw like, 15-20 cars behind you, to pull over for 10 seconds or something

don't think they have to by law, it's more of a courtesy thing really. though there are some utter prats who insist in trundling along at 30 in there tractors and not letting anyone past.

thing is if they pull over they dont know when they will be able to get out again on a busy road so thats probably partly why they dont

It aitn so bad if they driver slightly on the verge or to the left a bit. Then people can see better and nip past

Was in a queue a few weeks ago, a good 50+ cars!

I was about 30 back, and heard a loud exhaust looked in mirror and saw a punto flying in the other lane! He got passed all the cars, was a stupid bastard though.

Yeah, I wanted to do it. Was a good 30 cars back though, and there was nowhere to pull in, so i pussy'd out.

from what i know there isnt a law just a kind of guideline. i think if there are 5 cars behind you they are obliged to pull over. I also think the National Farmers Union asks that aswell as a kind of code of conduct.

When i used to work on tractors I would pull over if there was a suitable space and time but if im on a busy job i wouldnt, i'd just wave them past as i slow down a bit on straights. as at the end of the day ive got a job to do a schedule to meet just like every other person on the roads.

There is a rule against any slow vehicle on the road, be it a car or a tractor. If there are vehicles behind then you should let them past.
