been the last 2 years, and just signed up for this year.

It's awesome. everyone should go.

drive down, chunnel accross or ferry, camp on site near the track

there's camp sites inside the circuit and outside the circuit. if you get there early enough you can drive most of the track between qualifying and the race.

the drive down is immense, if you time it right you'll be surrounded by exotica for most of the journey.

route is pretty easy. mixture of motorways and through town sections. plenty of fast food places and hypermarkets to get supplies. and people in France can actually drive

i've never organised a trip, just mostly let other people sort the details out, but there should be tickets for sale on the net. maybe through ACO. if not you can usually pick some up from ebay.

you need parking ticket, camping ticket, and race ticket.

you wont get in the grandstand unless you get hospitality or have been a member of ACO for a decade, but the banking opposite is good for the start of the race.

it gets BUSY there, so go a couple of hours before the start if you want a decent spot to put a chair. and last 2 years it's been absolutely roasting, so take cream/shades/hat.

loads of information about on the net. try T.W.A.T.S. you'll see the bottle walls too

I have been two years ago and i was the best road trip ever. I had the redtop fitted about two weeks before and it made the drive very interesting. I had the best races ever during that trip. Dad was co driver tellng me when i could overtake, we had such a good time. i remember racing a Lotus elan turbo and a Etype V12 from rouen and they could not g=shake me off even with a roof box full of camping gear! At times we were off the clock chasing 927turbos and SLK's. if you do get the chance then do it. Things are different now with speeding in france the penelties have changed and they are very strict!

willay,

last year we spent something like £230 including 2 nights in french hotels either side of the event.

think the track and camping tickets amount to around £80, but don't quote me on that.

fuel/beer/food/tolls account for the rest.

Went 2years ago, plenty of pics here
http://c0rb.fotki.com/car_showscruisesmeets/le_mans_2005/

It was roasting! Bottle pyramids are mega cool too! Lush cars everywhere, camped and was surrounded by lambos, astons, ferraris, porches etc.

Got chatting to the owners of the Tussauds group! One of whom tried to blow up the engine on his 550 maranello for me

But we took mainly 'normal' cars down, year before that, they took their elise's etc. and got nicked speeding!!

I think the total cost for me this year is about £130ish. Ferry, camping and race tickets, leaving Wednesday and coming back Monday. Plus fuel, tolls etc.

Cant wait for it this year, hope its a little cooler though!
