Found out the other day that because I have a company vehicle my nat insurance number is changing again. The past 3 years I payed £500 or thereabouts in the year to have a van, I found out that the goverment as of 1st April are putting the £500 up to £3000????? This is an absolute joke, £60 a week to get too and from work? .
Does anyone know more about this? cheers

National insurance number is changing? Not your tax code?

Yeah, it happened to me as well. But I can use my van for personal use as well.
If you are paying tax on that vehicle then you can also use the van out of work hours and for your own personal use. That's why your paying tax. If you don't want to use the van outside of work hours then tell your company and you should not pay any tax on the van.

You will still pay tax as using your van getting to or from work is counted as personal not bussiness

He doesnt have to pay anything. It the people who take them home. Only other way around it is leaving it at work on an evening and collecting it in morning..which will be a right ball ache

its the employees who have to pay. I currently work for council who has over a thousand vans , if everyone kicks off and says that they will leave the van in the yard there simply wont be enough room, it will take hours to get in and out of the depot
