Modified prop - Bolts straight onto the input shaft of the R1 box

Will keep em coming as and when we get more done - Next job is rear bearing carriers/hubs, driveshafts and trial fit the prop! Lovin it!!!!

Its great fun and a lot easier than I thought it would be............its just like giant meccano but you still get the buzz of "building your own car"

We are using a standard 2002 R1 engine and box with Sierra rear diff with LSD. To get through the SVA its having a gear stick on the sequential box but we are gonna fit a push pull paddle change system eventually

Think the deluxe kit is £2700 but we got the hubs, diff, steering rack, shafts, calipers etc off MK directly so paid £3100. Add an engine and box which was about £800, no doubt there will be a few more bits as well so you looking at probably £5k in total?

Still not bad I dont think?

This is the website - Loads of pics on there - http://www.mksportscars.co.uk/index1.htm Ours is gonna be white with black detailing like their original Indy Fireblade demo car!

Yep the diff has an LSD altho for road use with a standard R1 engine they arent really necessary. The kit is called an MK Indy and yep, we have to get it through the dreaded SVA! Bought the book the other day! Nightmare!

R1 v's Busa? Well the R1 engine is cheaper, lighter (bhp per tonne compared to the Busa the R1 wins), cheaper to insure cos its less than a litre, more readily availible, easier to fit in the car and theres only 10bhp difference.

Well put it this way, for £5k you will have supercar performance! Im guessing sub 4 secs 0-60, 8-9 secs 0-100 and prob 12ish on the 1/4. Very similar stats to my Tuscan when it was standard Im guessing!?

The other thing with them is that they are so simple as well. If it breaks the parts are generally Sierra or R1 and cos you built the car it will be a doddle to fix it!

Cant recommend one enough matey!

To be honest matey, the Westfields are one of the best quality kits out there and you do pay for that. I suppose its how well you build them, attention to detail etc a lot of the time anyway tho!?

You def would be impressed with the Indy kit tho and the guys there are so helpful!!! We just gave them a bell and they invited us down for a tour of the factory and some test drives. They are in Worksop near Sheffield too so its only an hour from us too which was a bonus!
