Just wondering if anyone had any ideas how much it would cost me to put a c20xe engine into my corsa b, currently a 1.4 16v sport. how much would it cost for descent engine, wiring, conversion kit, fitting from a garage, changing gearbox, etc!!!

I think a rough guide is about £1500 - £2000 if you do it yourself. How old are you btw?

You could probably do it completely for £500 if you DIY.
Garage will vary, depending on labour rate etc.

Exhaust-Can diy if you have a welder
Brakes-256, £50 second hand setup.

doing my LET at the moment, so far i've spent
400 - motor/loom/ecu etc etc
850 - mounts/hubs/hoses
50 - equal length shafts
500 - servicing
450 - uprated suspension
250 - uprated brakes
500 - downpipe and exhaust
50 - engine stand
£3050 so far, and I got my motor dirt cheap so add another £600 if your paying full price for a LET motor. And i'm still not finished. So the verdict is, NOT CHEAP

Engine conversions aren't cheap. If you do them on the cheap you will be spending a lot of money on them in the long run...

easy to change f20 clutch anyway as you can split the bell housing and get at clutch release bearing and flywheel with droping the engine or gearbox

I did mine for about £1000 the first time round
£225 for the car
£500 for the kit from LMF
£200 on the engine
springs from a gsi
swopted a set of 17s for a set of 15s had the brakes laying around anh the rest went on odds and sodds fitted it with help from mates so you can do it on a budget
The second and thred got a lot more costley lol
