Gary which pub is it? Brewerys are throwing money into pubs now and also offering 0% loans to get them back on track.

I dont think id go in with four people, esp if its the lads who you used to hang round with

Pubs are a totally dying breed IMO.

I wouldn't buy one in a million years.

Reasons?

They are a fcuking rip off.

Pre mobile phones, people used to meet up after work and have a chat...now we send texts and use mobiles.

Smoking ban will hit trade....no doubt.

The internet and cable means we chat on places like this...the four eyed runt can fit in and not feel left out because of their 'looks'

Last (and worst from a landlords point of view) coke and drugs in general are far far too prevalent in pubs these days. A mate of mine took a lease on one last year and has bolted already...got totally fed up with policing the toilets for twats snorting and coming back in for a 'power powdered' kick off at the end of the night.

I wouldn't take one on.

I know a fair bit mate? Any of you a registered DPS though? You'll need liquor licence which is quite expensive and time consuming to get?

How much of your own money will you be putting into it???

No way will a pub be a bit on the side - it will requite your full commitment & to work longer & harder than you do now!! My dads mate bought into one with his redundancy money, he works all hours, any time from 6am getting deliveries & stuff sorted until 2am throwing out the last punters/cleaning up. Da' say he draws a wage from it & employs a few folk to help out, cook etc but not nearly enough for all the hassle & hours he does.
