SO After running a quote online it came out £300 cheaper. I phoned up, price got reduced, "sincere apologies Mr Mitchell"
Happy Again
you were lucky, when I worked for hastings direct the renewal price was always going to be more expensive than online quotes as new customers get a discount and we would not match it!
Morale of the story...always run an online quote
Shittest thread of 2007...perhaps

aye i was with elephant last year, no points, extra years NCB etc etc and they put my policy up a couple hundred quid rang around, managed to get it £400 cheaper from AA/zurich. Rang elephant to cancel, all sorted out etc....for the next 4 month they continued to try to take the new monthly payments from my account, obviously my bank wouldnt allow it, so they started threatening me with court action etc, saying my car was no longer insured, blah blah blah, even though i rang them 6 or 7 times and wrote 3 letters to say my policy had no been renewed and to stop trying to take money off me
