I have a 1.9 JTDM Punto Sporting - 130Bhp - 206 lb/ft torque

I have been told that for £325 I can get it remapped to - 170 Bhp and 260lb Torque.

What are the pros and cons of this, Please discuss

Pro's - better performance

Con's - worst fuel economy but it's a diesel so you'll still be laughing!
- i know on the vag 1.9tdi then tend to eat clutches due to the massive increase in torque, not sure on the italian stallion but i'm sure it will be similar.

Definately worth getting it done, i'd ask about your warranty though.

turbo should be fine. it'll be designed to run on std components, st2 will probably need uprated components such as intercooler / turbo / exhaust.

TBH blebo, unless you end up doing 120k in that car etc, your proberly never see any issues with engine ware/turno issues

but make sure the people you get it from are well known, also is it a chip, or a serial port remap

Not sure not really looked into it that much. just seen a post on the internet and got me thinking. It looks as if it was serial port remap.

I am going to the scottish motor sport show this weekend and there should be a few exibitors there

People with the 1.9 vag lump have needed new clutches after 30k, but then there are the lucky ones that have not had any problems..

the map will be designed with all the standard components in mind, so dont worry about that. clutch will be under more strain but shouldnt need replacing all the time! thing with re-mapped desiels is loads more black smoke kicked out the back when ya boot it! will defintly worth gettin done
