How come the wheel has to be turned that much before it engages?. I only have to move mine about 6 inches and it's locked without the key?

according to all the other threads on this topic he had the keys in the ignition, if you see the 8min vid of it you'll see he goes round loads of corners fine, apperently no1 can explain why the steering lock came on.
