yeah i know, but it was our first night in the country so we took licenced taxis, every other night we just flagged down random drivers, hell it was our tour guide who said not to bother with the proper taxis.
it was even more wierd when the nightclubs were closing and there was rows of normal crappy cars parked outside waiting to pick up fares, and not a single proper taxi in sight

The easyest way to stop your car from having a MOT for life is to register the car over in the Isle of Man where they put your car throw an MOT type check. once passed you go and get Tax.
From there on aslong as your car is Taxed every year with a Isle of Man Tax Disc you do not need a MOT.
My Mate has just moved back over to the UK with his car, and he is going to get his Mum who is still on the rock to tax it every year so no need for him to MOT the car

I heard from a reliable source that in Wollaston nobody has an MOT, one guy even had a knackered Nova
