so SBD list kits for x14xe engines. Will be near on identical gear to x16xe stuff.
Not worth it on a road car though. 1600 upgrade or 2000 is much better / usuable option.

James R on here did it in a Nova, I'm sure he'd tell you to go for a 1.6 though

it'l be a waste of cash.
I played about with my x14xe years ago, its a struggle getting decent power out of it, esp when its so cheap to go 1600.
For a road car that gets used a lot i wouldnt fit TB's too. Too obtrusive.

for the extra £200 or so it'd cost to do the same to the 1.6 engine, you'll get far more power/£

not all TB setups have to spit flames in your face adam i think a moderate setup would be pretty cool, rather than balls-out mad like yours was

Kieth only did it to the 1.4 as he would have been more competitave in the 1.4 class than the 1.6 i assume.
if you leave the dash in and the sound deadening in and the heater matrix, id say that the 1.6 on tb's isnt that loud especially if you fit a pipercross air box.
more and more pople are using bike tb's but as yet im not to see one make similar power to an equally spec'd engine with proper tb's designed for the car.
sbd is expencive, best bet is to get the inlet off them then hunt around for other stuff, i.e. 45mm tapers and linkage etc from jenvey else where for management just need to make yourself a list

Im doing a 1.6 on bike Tb's..Went for that route to be a bit different and it seems to be working out a bit cheaper then using the likes of SBD etc..Who knows what power i'll see with bike TB's just have to wait and see

I know that you donkey.... but still quite loud even when fully trimmed/supressed. If its a daily i dont think i could cope. Would def be very peaky if on aftermarket cams, and not friendly in town.

for a northener you a big pansy! paddle clutch, 288degree cams and tb's made my daily drive exciting for 8months, granted people looked at me and probably thought "cockend"

288 deg cams and TBs was absolutely fine driving to Wales, twice.
And Paddle clutch, 288 deg cams and TBs with no airbox was fine on a morning commute in winter.
I would have lived with it as a daily

Ive thought about something like this on a 1.3 but at the end of the day its always going to be a waste of cash with bigger engines at hand unless your doing it for motorsport regulations.

Obviously on wide open throttle, it's not going to be great every day, but half throttle and it's quieter than standard.
Unless yours was just silly loud Adam?
