My origional plan was to get a mk4 astra gsi later in the year but i have recently considered saving money on insurance and running costs and getting a 1.8 sri as i have seen one that i like.
Just wondered what they are like in terms of preformance as they look good on paper. Ive got a 1.2 8v corsa atm and wondered what the improvements would be like?
this is the one i was looking at, what would you say it was worth? Its 2001 reg 41,000 miles and has all the extras plus the mods you see

supose it would be a good stepping stone. What they like on fuel etc?
Any opinions on what the above one is worth, the asking price is £5K

1.8 16v is very nippy indeed, one of Vauxhalls better engines.

The 125bhp model anyway, not the crappy 115bhp one.

Don't listen to this fool he wants to put a MCR bumper on a GSI
The 1.8 16v is quicker a nicer to drive than the GSi
You are right will be a good stepping stone

i was only when it was being fixed fad
the reason i said corsa gsi was that he can keep saving for a mk4 astra GSi which hes wanted for ages

From a 1.2 8v to 1.6 SXi would be nice, let alone 1.8 SRi. Lovely cars and I can't see it being that different to a GSi i.e. I'd prefer to save money on insurance for a few years.
