you are going to leave him bad feedback when he has done nothing wrong Colin? It's his choice to post and you agreed to this when bidding on his auction.

Yes not allowing me to pick it up from the next town is ridiculous & his postage costs are double ridiculous I have good feedback to include 'Excellent buyer, was local and paid cash within an hour, highly recommended :-) ' Dont see why he has beef with me wanting to pick up

Also it doesnt say no collection in the listing, if it did I wouldnt have bid!!

Not if you are happy with the goods????

He in the eyes of ebay has done nothing wrong really....

It does seem weird and stupid that he won't let you collect but again it's his choice and you agreed to the terms of the auction..

Maybe ask him if he would meet you...Not at his home..He maybe just doesn't want ppl on ebay to know where he lives.

Exactly, I see no other reason to insist on posting. Its not a big item postage would be no more than a couple quid!!

You see auctions with £15 p an p for something small, even if I wanted it I woudln't bid due to this.

I see what you are saying Col, but tbf if the auction doesnt mention anything about collections... and u agreed to pay it then how has the seller done anything to deserve nasty feedback?

Its more for your convenience that you want to collect it...

Surely though if your advertising a price for postage and packaging as additional costs, you should automatically have the option to not pay them and collect. It's an optional cost, so you should have the right to not have it if you don't want it.

That said, it's nearly as rediculous as booking fee's, a similarly stupid charge for printing the ticket (There's no alternative options!!!) and Air duty Fuel tax. All a load of bollocks that should be included in the price if you can't refuse them .

if he was so adamant about no collections then he should of stated it in his listing.

He is in the wrong. As he's stated in the auction, he's charging a higher price on the postage, so that he can get less for the item and more for the postage. As he's selling the item for less, he's not paying much in the way of fees, but he's making up his shortcomings with the postage.

Its the same as when they sell the item for £0.01, with £19.99 postage and £10 insurance.

agree on that esp with the reply about

quote:

Says in the listing - 'Postage charges are higher than the actual stamp value. This is common practice on ebay, and helps you because my seller fees are reduced. It also goes towards covering packaging costs.'

he himself confessed to inflating the price...

But again, you should have reported him BEFORE buying...(and not buy)
