BBS: production continues despite insolvency
In spite of being on the edge of bankruptcy BBS keep up their wheel production.
Chances are good for German wheel maker BBS that a solution can be found to remain in business. After losing a major client BBS found themselves unable to pay their debts in full anymore. But now it seems that other customers showed their will to support their supplier by paying quickly. Wages have been payed for January, a spokesman of the trade union IG Metall said.
750 employees produce Aluminium and Magnesium wheels in Schiltach and Herbolzheim, Germany. All in all some 1,200 staff work for BBS worldwide. In 2006 the company had some 200 million Euros turnover (appr. £135 million) but due to rising prices for Aluminium there was a loss of 3,8 million Euros (£2,5 million).

I hope they stay in business purely because they make lovely high quality wheels, would be a real shame if they went bust!

TBH it sounds like they are just delaying the inevitable.
Unless they do some major cost cutting and find some new revenue streams ASAP then I doubt they'll be around come summer.

I cant see prices going down, more likely up - price of metals has risen 15-25% in the last 18 months!!
More likely they will drop the business down to the bare minimum to keep it going, 1200 workforce is alot for a wheel manufacturer imo!!

cost cutting = cut number of workers, etc. etc. Didnt mean lowering prices
