anyone know about it? i need to weld hinges on my fence to put on driveway gates?what kind of welder would i have to use stick welder or mig welder?

either, depends on which your better at. Mig's easier MMA is cheaper 
Edit: dont forget to set it to the right ampage for the thickness of your steel

stick might be a little powerfull for the job unless it's thick metal

stick will prob be abit crude for that kind of job, be better with a decent size mig

I prefer TIG, do this at work, takes some doing but i like the finish when its brushed up!

tig would be too fine for gate hinges unless they are very small gates... best all rouind option is a decent power/size mig...
