Car used to be dodgy at highish revs jerking and uce light, replaced air mass sensor fixed it.
since then though when calmly cruising at low revs the car jerks and misses revs......... also is very slow to actually rev....... my mate says it will be the idle speed control valve.........
Can get one for 35 quid
Easy to replace?
Once replaced do i need to reset the ECU though

i had the idle speed control done the uva week it ran like a piece of shit kept jerkin n felt like it wud stall then suddenly boost of power. if it wuz ur idle speed control ur engine managment light wud b on. go to ur local garage n get them to put it on a diagnostic tester mine was 20 quid but worked out free if i bort the part off them.

its a 12v XE............ yep i know the engine management should come on, i'm sure it will soon enough, didn't come on straight away when i had the air mass sensor fault.
Tis running like shit at low revs, but do i need to reset the ECU if i replace the part?
