Is it illegal to not have a rear towing hook? I know that some cars don't have them but thought if it came as standard would it pass the MOT ect without one?

yeah it would pass without 1 i took 1 of my van cause i didnt want it anymore passed fine

I've quickly looked on the DVLA site and couldn't find anything about it so I don't know??

what do you mean? the tow 'eye' were you are gttn towed by somebody else OR the tow bar (e.g trailers etc)

Yeah I mean the tow eye like the one you get on the front of the car also.

I shouldn't think it's compulsory - if I took mine off and they queried it, I'd say "what the hell am I going to be pulling in a 12v?"

why dont you have one? surely it hasnt corroded through and fell off.

I seriously doubt it would get mentioned on an MOT and if it did they wouldnt fail you for it.

some people just like taking bits off their cars lol.

my step dads mk4 astra estate has one that screws into the front, dunno if corsas have any screw in ones, or if they're permanently fixed

My car has it at the moment but due to a little accident I had I bent it and when I went to replace the rear bumper and the towing eye cover wouldn't go on again.

I tried to bend it back to where I thought it was supposed to be but still had no luck so may just remove it completely.
