if you want a decent driving driving game then thats forza 2 for the 360. microsofts answer to the gt series which many people said was on par/better than gt4(forza 1)
you can get gt hd for the ps3 now but its only a demo, so you get 1 track and a few cars and i dont think theres any online play. gt5 wont be out for atleast another year, maybe 2

Are the computer cars self aware?
Can you adjust all the settings, gearing, suspension etc as well?
Car handling? Good gameplay? Graphics?
May look into it, not really looked into games consols for years tbh...
