it's a case of a nice balance of carbs, fats and protein, alot of protein and carbs contain fats.
fish, eggs, meats, chicken, milk and the likes is the way to a good balanced diet and lots of training to complement it.
2 raw eggs in the morning with a pint of milk and milkshake is a great way for proteina nd when training i felt the benifit within weeks.
you should be lucky i have to loose weight for boxing from 13st 6Lbs to 12-11 st and this is my diet
45G porridge
this food for work

Nice
and 1 cooked meal.

I take back my comment though in theory yes excess protein would lead to excesas amino acids so inturn fat
amino acids are protein or what make up proein anyway.

you will have to look into it, thats why people pay coaches etc quite a bit of money to work all this stuff out for them! There are loads of stuff to think about, match day eating usually varies from training days, there are time slots to think about and GI and GL index of foods to maximise energy at different periods etc.
BEst thing is to do is try and eat as healthy as possible, On match days get some carbs form pasta etc 4 hours before you play if possible, if its morning then will have to have porrage oats etc, then a bit before have some fast releasing carb type thing, alot of footballers have jaffa cakes or jelly babies or still lucozade etc. Then after match refuel.

be careful with the raw eggs and milk thing, some people really cant stomach the lactose from the milk, this can make you quite sick.
sports nutrition has come a long way since 'rocky downing raw eggs', no need for it imho.

with the side effects of lactose in the milk as well dont see the point of mixing a proteinshake with it either, possibly with the exception of you nighttime shake as absorbtion will be slower as you sleep.

This is true as i'm lacctose intolerent, not majorly but certain things seem worse and i end up with a chest infection, which isn't ideal when trying to get fitter. Soya milk aint too bad but i miss not having real butter on my toast.

I have read that you do not actually get the full benefits of Egg's if you eat them Raw. Apprently It is more nutritious to eat them cooked and your body absorbs the nutrients more effectively.
Plus it tastes far better
