Was going out this morning, living near the coast quite often get the tides coming over onto the road.

So a bit of a flood / big puddle is not out of the norm usally........ Tide was getting closer so I decided to go for it before the tide came over.

Few little puddles nothing much come round the corner and a long shallow flood.......... slowed down to 1st and started to go through it.........

Hmmmmmmm battery light comes on and car slowly cuts out on me!

Stuck in the middle of a flood with tide still coming in, car wouldn't start again and within 5 mins tide was coming over same height as a two story building on the opposite side of the road.

(Wish I had taken pictures to prove the fooking height of these stupid things)

Spent all day trying to get it running, from about 11am to 9:30 tonight.

Finally got it ticking over after a few misshaps along the way, one of which was a glowing red hot cat, seems its fooked my cat and blocked it.

Engine, air filter, plugs, leads, were all bone dry so seemed a bit odd she would'nt start.

Few last trys before giving up for the night, noticed one of the HT leads showing sparks, taped that up and hey fooking presto she fires up.

Just still need to smash up the solid cat tomorrow to get her purring again....

Is it an easy job, just un bolt the cat and smash it away with a broom shank or long screw driver?

Sorry for the essay, just thought I would share my little adventure, the moral of the story is, don't drive through a flood to save your journey 10-15mins.

I think I've learned my lesson.

Its a sunday and needs fixed for work on Monday, smashing the cat out work for the time being?

Engine will only be in another month or so, don't want to waste money on de-cats or a new cat.

?????????

Knocked the cat out, hasn't helped.

Car started after a few HT lead modifications.

Ran like a bag of shite, not pulling in any gear, cutting out when slowing down to a stand still.

Drove the car 11miles home, been home an hour thought I would try and start it and now the fooking piece of shit won't start!
