Does the references (Bibliography) form part of the appendices or is it a section in its own right

When I was doing my degree we had to put the Bibliography on a seperate sheet at the back of the coursework...it didnt count towards the word count etc...

Far as i know the bibliography is its own section at the end, with all books, web site used for any quotes you've used.

Is it from a website, if so just write down the exact web address, if it's a book, i usually do, book title, author, publishing company, date published, page reference, and i've never dropped marks for it oh and the edition of the book, 2nd edition etc.
