Obviously your engine is a bit ghey in your Corsa or whatever, but has anyone ever considered putting one of these on a go-kart (seriously)?

I just wondered as people that put valvers in the Corsas seem to sell their old crap engines for fuck-all really, surely as a go-kart would weigh hardly anything the engine on that would make it pretty rapid?

How much do bike engines cost? Cheaper or dearer than say a X10XE or or a C12NZ etc.?

C12NZ go-kart?

The engine weight would negate the power increase over the lawnmower one.

X10XE would be a waste of time too, it'd vibrate the kart apart.

Z Cars make a an off road kart for kids to race that is powered by a C12NZ. WOuld perform better with an X10 or a C16 but you wouldn't be able to race it then as it wouldn't have the right engine in it. But I guess you are all too old to care about that anyway...
