Lowering and wheels if you can afford to do both, if not lowering first then wheels after that. Thats what i'd do anyway.

kool, its just im currently looking around for a 1.6 at the moment and i want to get one completely standard and mod it myself, that way i know its done properly! just wondered whats the best thing to do first once i v got one! ive already got wheels, backbox and lights so it looks like a good suspension set up will be what im looking for first!

nah, no point to be honest might as well just by a 1.6! must extras with the 1.6 model too! also you get problems when you do engine conversions!

Engine conversion or not, problems happen.
If it was me, and i had the things you alredy have, would be suspension then tints.
Also do some free mods, de-badge, maybe paint some interior bits if your good with rattle cans?

Suspension - Shocks and springs.
Then I'd get some 15"'s.

This is how I went: -
Wheels, Lowered, Backbox, De-Cat, V6 Brakes, Manifold, Inlet, Head + Cams.
Next step is the re-map, ARP's and steel rollers.
