Like Joe said, I thought you needed headlight washers for an MOT with xenons
Dont think this is the case as my bro's Astra GSi Turbo came from the factory with Hid's and he doesn't have headlight washers and it went through its mot fine.

It is not acceptable to convert a headlamp approved for use with halogen filament bulb to use a Xenon [HID] gas discharge bulb. The only acceptable way of converting is to replace the headlamp unit with one approved for gas discharge bulbs. Such headlamps will be approved to UNECE Regulation 98 and 'E' marked. If headlamps approved to UNECE Regulation 98 are retro-fitted, they must be self levelling (as part of headlamp sysytem, or via self-levelling suspension), and headlamp washers must be installed. Under the Road Traffic Act 1998, it is an offence to fit or use parts which are not legal.
It would be very hard for the police to enforce this law unless they decided to clamp down on this.
If I wanted them, i'd fit them.

The UK law says you need washers, but EU law doesn't state. EU law overwrites UK law in the way of cars etc.
I think thats right.
